Since 1999, all RECO Gas Hot Air Track Switch Snow Melters have included branch circuit fuse protection. But did you know that your pre-1999 RECO Snow Melters are upgradeable?

You can now get the same protection and great additional features on pre-1999 model RECO snow melters by simply installing the Protection Package within the existing control enclosure.

By placing a plug-in fuse board and LED indicator system in line with the ignition transformer, internal and external gas valves, blower, and up to two snow detectors, the critical microprocessor control is protected against failure due to electrical shorts. The Protection Package also offers connections for a Tie Duct Overtemp Sensor system to prevent overheating, and also for an optional Rail Temp Sensor to help optimize gas burn times.

The plug-in wire harnesses are compatible with all existing control modules—no complicated wiring required! Adding this Protection Package to older model snow melters will save considerable circuit troubleshooting time and, protecting the critical control module from failure, repairs will be quicker and easier, with much less down time.

The main LED indicator glows green to show all systems are working, while a red LED identifies which external circuit has shorted. Just correct the fault, plug in a new fuse board, and the system is up and running again with no damage to critical components.
